Users, user groups, and permissions

In Zabbix, hosts need to be placed in 1 or more host group(s). Users also need to be placed in 1 or more group(s). Hosts have gathered the information and, they have items linked to them, directly or from templates. Permissions in Zabbix are set on a group level.

Authentication methods

Before we look at more detailed user configuration, it might be helpful to know that Zabbix supports three authentication methods. Navigate to Administration | Authentication to take a look at authentication configuration:
