Information links are Spotfire's database abstraction method. They handle authentication, querying, and joining databases. You can create parameters that prompt users when loading data, or that allow programmatic control of data loading.
To define or manage information links and their associated components, access Spotfire's information designer from the Data menu in an Analyst client.
Information links support joins between multiple tables, even across databases. You can also call stored procedures, enter custom SQL, or use information links to update database tables.
Information links only support in-memory data. They do not support in-database analytics.
Lastly, information links and their associated data sources are stored in the Spotfire library, so any users that use the information links must have access to the requisite folders in the library...
