Shaping the Score and Exporting to Video

Previously, in Chapter 10, we discussed and presented an example of how to score a Mercedes commercial from scratch. We discussed how to find and select appropriate sounds, moods, and styles; structure the cue; choose music choices over technical choices; and layer instruments to create an entire arrangement.

Now, using the instruments previously recorded in Chapter 10, we will explore how to set up volume and panning, as well as how to blend the sounds by adding some of the Logic Pro plugins. We will exclusively use Logic Pro plugins for audio processing instead of using any existing third-party plugins.

Additionally, we will go over how to change, shape, and customize the existing instruments so that the final mix contributes to the overall mood of the commercial. Since mixing and mastering can be a very elaborate task, for the sake of the exercise in this chapter, we will cover just the basic mixing elements to get you started.
