Once the sessions are complete, the recordings must be managed so that they are available for the UX researcher and stakeholders. This includes converting to a generic format (such as mp4), if necessary, providing clear and consistent filenames, and storing the data on a location that is accessible by all parties. If transcription services are used, the data must be delivered for transcription. Â
Any follow-up with the participants, including compensation, must also be dealt with.
The next step for the UX researcher is to analyze the data and write up the findings, as agreed upon during the study planning phase. The deliverables may include a topline report that is provided soon after the final session, so that stakeholders have a high-level overview while they wait for a more formal report. Analysis and report writing will be covered later in this book.
