Climate modeling
Apart from a few climate change sceptics, most people appreciate that climate change is an important phenomenon that we cannot ignore anymore. According to the World Wildlife Federation (WWF), the earth is losing 18.7 million acres of forests per year, or the equivalent of 27 soccer fields every minute. This is a serious problem, as forests are carbon sinks because trees absorb and store carbon dioxide.
There is a hypothesis that climate change or global warming is a cyclical event. Since the last cycle that saw the ice age, global temperatures raised between 3°C to 8°C over the space of 10,000 years. It is the current scientific consensus that carbon emissions due to human actions have been a large factor in accelerating this cycle of climate change. Research by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has identified that there is a 90% chance that recent climatic change is associated with human actions. Source: https://www.ipcc.ch/
