Animation tools

We use animation in Prezi to temporarily withhold information, to create a surprise effect, or just for beautification and a wow effect.

Elements that you want to animate need to be in a frame. This frame needs to be added to the path. It all happens in Edit Path mode. Let's find out how!

Take a look at the following screenshot, where frames on the path have a star next to their number; this is visible only in the Edit Path mode:

Animation stars

Our prezi, as shown in the preceding screenshot, is now in the Edit Path mode.

Looking at the blue, numbered circles in the path lane and on the canvas, we notice that some of these have a small star next to them, while others don't.

The stars are animation stars. They are Prezi's way of telling you that a step can be animated. Our steps 1 and 2 both have the star, so they can be animated. If a step has no star (such as step 3), it cannot be animated.

The reason for the difference is that steps 1 and 3 are frames. Any content...
