Understanding Moodle privacy

One week earlier: Moodle 3.5 is released, supporting some but not all GDPR features.
It was the first time that Moodle was forced to implement a set of features to comply with legislative regulations (gdpr-info.eu). The implementation of all required features was completed in version 3.6, and the functionality was backported to three releases—another first for Moodle.
While GDPR only applies to EU residents or sites that are hosted in the EU, there are two reasons why the regulations are potentially relevant to all Moodle systems:
- If a single user on your system (student, employee, supplier, and so on) is or will be from the EU, you are obliged to comply with the regulation.
