You should use the Show Error Message action if the data within a field is not valid. The text you specify will be displayed with an error icon near the field and will also be displayed next to the save icon at the bottom of the form. The following screenshot shows how to set an error message in the Properties tab of the Show Error Message action:

This message prevents the record from being saved. The user will need to change the data that caused the condition in the business rule to call the Show Error Message action.
