Summary

This chapter explored some of the exclusive features of Power BI Premium and Microsoft Fabric. The recipes covered how to create common data constructs such as data warehouses, data marts, and lakehouses within Microsoft Fabric. In addition, we addressed how to back up semantic models within Power BI Premium, PPU, and Fabric using the XMLA endpoint and client tools such as SSMS. We then demonstrated the new storage mode, Direct Lake, and how this technology can potentially improve analytical performance over large semantic models. Finally, we covered using data science and Real-Time Analytics within Fabric.

This concludes the recipes for the Microsoft Power BI Cookbook, Third Edition. We hope you have enjoyed this book and that it helps you advance your career in data analytics and business intelligence.
