Chapter 5. Maps and Aesthetics

In Chapter 3, Time Series and Scientific Visualization and Chapter 4, Statistical and Information Visualization, we learned how to use Mathematica to create visualization prototypes. We saw how Mathematica's Graphics language and interactivity functions—coupled with its plotting packages—allow us to create visualization tools of our design and choice. The last chapter of the book will be much shorter than the others. We will learn to create map visualizations, and briefly discuss how colors, interactivity, and design choices affect maps and other visualizations.
