Securing Kubernetes and APIs

Kubernetes is one of the most used platforms to deploy cloud applications. Due to its popularity, it is important that you understand the basics of securing Kubernetes to enhance the protection of your cloud environment.

Cloud-native security

To better understand how Kubernetes security relates to cloud security, let's look at the following figure, which explains the layered model of the four Cs of cloud-native systems:

As seen in the preceding figure, this is a layered model based on the Defense in Depth (DiD) model, designed to enhance the security of cloud-based developments.
