Summary
In this chapter, we continued seamlessly from the WBS into a schedule by learning how to import information into Project. When standardized with repeated practice, this technique can be extrapolated to other data entities, such as resources and assignments.
Once data is brought into Project, it has to be systematically organized. This chapter presented task organization techniques and best practices. Specifically, Summary Tasks, chronological ordering, and grouping by resources were discussed. Special tasks and features were discussed, including milestones and recurring tasks. A special analysis feature that allows us to inactivate tasks was also demonstrated.
Summary Tasks are the best tools available for a well-organized project schedule. There are multiple dimensions to their usage.
