A fast and modern website
As mentioned earlier, one of the main goals of the project was to provide the company with a fast and modern website that was decoupled from the monolith Java application.
Joomla 4, since the tests conducted during the early Beta phase, achieved great results in terms of performance, with reduced response and loading times. Furthermore, performance was crucial for the company, which sells fast hosting services, and it couldn’t have a slow-loading website.
Starting from a lightweight frontend such as Cassiopeia, the use of modern standards for images, such as WEBP, and the minification of CSS and JavaScript allowed the website to be reactive and ensured fast loading times.
To check whether the goal was fulfilled, the company tested the old website and the new one with GTMetrix, simulating an unthrottled connection from London that was closer to their data centers.
