Visualizing spatial data with Neo4j

Spatial data experts have developed several tools for visualizing and manually updating geometries. ArgQIS and QGIS desktop applications allow us to load data from various data sources, such as shapefile, create edit geometries, and perform operations such as distance calculations.

In this section, we are going to investigate two solutions compatible with Neo4j. The first one is an application that can be installed to Neo4j Desktop and that allows us to visualize nodes. The second one uses the Neo4j JavaScript driver and leaflet, a JavaScript library done especially to visualize maps in order to start creating a web application to visualize the shortest path between two points.

neomap – a Neo4j Desktop application for spatial data

neomap is an open source application available at https://github.com/stellasia/neomap/. It can be added to Neo4j Desktop and connected to the active graph when you start it. It allows you to visualize nodes with spatial...
