In this chapter, we delved into integrating Green Software Engineering and Digital Sobriety principles within UX and Design. We discovered that reducing design complexity plays a crucial role in decreasing the energy consumption of digital products. The key insights from our discussion highlight minimalist design’s dual value: its aesthetic appeal and its substantial environmental benefits, which directly contribute to lower energy requirements for websites and applications.
