How to automate cost estimation
So far, we have learned how to calculate the cost of cloud solutions as well as how we can properly estimate the outcome of our cost optimization initiatives before their implementation.
To fully close the circle, we are going to describe in this section how we can automate the end-to-end process of potential savings estimation, to be able to always have this information available in a dashboard or similar, which will improve our FinOps posture a great deal. Having this means that we will be able to choose first the initiatives that will result in the best outcome from a savings perspective, as long as the effort required for such an initiative is reasonable enough.
