Time for action – using transparency in the Video Sequence Editor
In addition to making objects transparent in relation to other objects, the transparency that you see in a scene is also used in Video Sequence Editor and Node Editor. Here is an example in Video Sequence Editor:
- Move the mouse to the border between the 3D View window and the Timeline window. When you get the double-headed arrow, move the border up so that about a quarter of the screen height is filled with the Timeline window.
- In the lower-left corner of the Timeline window, select the Current Editor Type menu button and choose Video Sequence Editor from the pop-up menu.
- In the Video Sequence Editor header, select Add, and choose Image from the pop-up menu. Choose any of the

in your download pack. You don't need the whole strip. Just select a single frame. Click on the Add Image Strip button in the File Browser window. - Select Add and choose Scene and then Scene...
