Advanced utility analysis techniques and workflows for pressure networks

Now that we have an idea of what needs to be updated from a design standpoint related to our gravity pipe networks (GPNs), let’s move over to further analyze both our pressure pipe networks (PPNs), properly named PPN – Proposed Sanitary Sewer, and PPN – Domestic Water Main Pressure Pipe Networks. The first analysis we’re going to perform is the design check, followed by the depth check.

Performing a design check

To perform the design check, we’ll start by using the following steps to access this tool (also displayed in Figure 3.31):

1. Right-click on the PPN – Proposed Sanitary Sewer Pressure Pipe Network.
2. Click on the Select option.
3. Select the Design Check tool located in the Analyze panel within the Pressure Pipe contextual ribbon.
