Setting up a player template

It is possible to set up the presentation in such a way that all the viewer sees is the slides themselves. That's what we did in Chapter 1, Getting Started with Articulate Suite, of this book. However, it is much more common to display the player with its sidebar, which shows who the presenter is and what is included in the e-learning course.

This presenter skin can be customized in a number of ways to meet your specific needs. So when we set up the player template, really what we are doing is setting up the skin. This provides you with the opportunity to control branding and maintain a consistent look to your theme.

Getting ready

You can perform this recipe at any point in the process of creating a presentation. The player template is separate from the presentation up until the time of publishing the presentation. So a player template can be created either at the beginning or at the end of creating the presentation.
