Creating an animation
There are two ways to create an animation:
- Capturing keyframes
- Recording your navigation through the scene
Keyframes are individual views. When you create an animation by capturing keyframes, you can use the Capture View tool or the Animation Manager dialog from the Animation toolbar. The rest of the views from the animation file will be interpolated based on those keyframes to result in a smooth animated picture.
Getting ready
In this recipe, you will create an animated tour of your 3D feature in ArcScene and export it to a video file. Before you start working, please watch the movies 3DFeatures_ByKeyFrames.avi
and 3DFeatures_ByRecording.avi
from the ...\Data\3DAnalyst\Animation
folder. These are the two results you should obtain at the end of the exercise. You can use a media player such as Windows Media Player or VLC.
