Summary
In this chapter, we practiced ns-3-supporting LTE important features such as radio resource scheduling for efficient spectrum management, ensuring QoS requirements using EPS bearers and the PSS scheduler, and mobility use-case scenario evaluations.
Mainly, we discussed how to evaluate various ns-3 supporting schedulers such as RR, PF, CQA, and PSS performance using interesting hands-on activities. Specifically, we discussed how to set up and test ns-3-supporting LTE QoS features using EPS bearers. Besides, as part of the LTE mobility scenarios’ setup and evaluation, we discussed how to configure and evaluate A2A4RsrqHandover
and A3RsrpHandover
algorithms. As part of the evaluations, we discussed the importance of handover thresholds and their effect on mobility scenarios.
After exploring ns-3 LTE-supporting basic simulations, in the next chapter, users are going to learn how to set up LTE advanced networks such as HetNets, how to conduct site surveys for LTE networks...
