Basic export and printing (output)
Finally, it is necessary to know how to get our design into a drawing we can print or send to others as a PDF or DWG file. We distinguish between printing directly or using a layout, which gives you more control, but also requires more preparation.
Direct printing from a drawing window
At any point in time, you can print the content that you currently see. Archicad supports any installed printer but also has additional support for large-scale printers (“plotters”). If you want, you can print the result directly, which is mainly a matter of picking the right printer driver.
We’ll show the macOS dialogs, but rest assured that the Windows version shows familiar printing dialogs. To make a print, follow these steps:
- File > Print... (Cmd+P/Ctrl+P) is as straightforward as it gets. You get a Print dialog, set to the default printer, and use the configuration from your operating system.
