Creating Realistic Flowers in Blender
In this chapter, you will learn tips on how to create an organic-looking flower in Blender for our landscape environment scene. The flower that we’ll be creating will be based on a real reference – the name of the flower is buttercup.
We will start by modeling the petals and the center. We will use the Displace modifier to add cloud noise to the surface of the petals.
Next, we will learn how to unwrap and texture the buttercup flower. Finally, we will diversify the flower branches, add the leaves using the alpha transparency trick, and give the flower a realistic scale measurement.
In this chapter, we’ll be covering the following topics:
- Designing buttercup petals
- Texturing the buttercup
- Creating the buttercup leaves
- Sizing the buttercup flower
