Summary
In this chapter, we briefly talked about YARN's journey since its inception. YARN has completely changed Hadoop from the way it was earlier in the Hadoop 1.x version. Now YARN is a first-class resource management framework for supporting mixed workloads/processing frameworks.
From what can been seen and predicted, YARN is surely a hit in the big data industry and has many more new and promising features to come in the future. Currently, YARN handles memory and CPU and will coordinate additional resources such as disk and network I/O in the future.
