Managing Collection item states
Throughout the lifetime of a CMS project, the various Collection items we create may need to exist in various states. Imagine, for example, that we were to add more libraries to our Libraries Collection. We may not be ready to publish all of them from the get-go, so we will likely want to put some in a sort of draft state until we're ready.
First, you would've noticed by now that the libraries in our Libraries Collection are all in a Staged for Publish state, as shown in the following screenshot:
In the Staged for Publish state, the item will be published and go live as soon as the website itself is published. We'll cover more about publishing a project in Chapter 13, Publishing Projects to the Web. For now, you can assume that any item in the Staged for Publish state is ready to go live.
