Using VSAN with VMware Horizon View
This recipe will discuss how to use VSAN with VMware Horizon View.
Getting ready
VMware Horizon View requires no additional configuration in order to use VSAN as a target datastore for Horizon View desktops. In the How to do it… section of this recipe, we will see how to select VSAN when creating a new Horizon View desktop pool. This recipe assumes that we are already familiar with how View desktop pools are created.
How to do it…
The following steps outline how to use a VSAN datastore to deploy VMware Horizon View desktops:
- Use the Horizon View Manager Admin console to begin the process of creating a Horizon View desktop pool, stopping at the Storage Optimization window.
- Navigate to Add Desktop Pool | Storage Optimization, select the Use VMware Virtual SAN radio checkbox as shown in the following screenshot, and then click on Next. This option will ensure that the vSphere VSAN SPBM policies are created and applied to the virtual machines.
