Factors Other than Cost
Cost is important, but it is not the only factor that will determine the best way to transform spreadsheets into corporate data. Accuracy and time must also be taken into consideration. For example, a spreadsheet that takes 30 days to process manually could be automatically processed in a matter of seconds.
The other major factor is the accuracy of transformation. Humans make errors for a variety of reasons. It is reasonable to expect a 70% to 80% accuracy rate in transforming spreadsheets manually. However, when transforming spreadsheets in an automated manner, it is reasonable to expect a 100% accuracy rate.
