Responsibility—The Flip Side of Control

At the root of the problem was the fact that as long as only the end user could create data, only the end user could be held responsible for the data. The end user – by taking control of their destiny – also assumed responsibility for the accuracy and veracity of the data that arrives on their spreadsheet.

When the end users were finally able to take control, they did not realize that with control came responsibility.
