Summary
This chapter covered four major points. The first section was a justification of the use of metrics especially in the area of time management. This section listed the ten major purposes for the use of metrics.
The second point was an enumeration of metrics applicable to time management. These were classified under productivity and effectiveness, punctuality, organization and control, and efficiency. The metrics are:

The third point was a list of data items that must be logged in order to calculate the previous metrics. The final point was about using the metrics to improve productivity, effectiveness, efficiency, punctuality, dependability, and quality.
