Summary
Throughout this book, we have been learning complex skills and techniques to not only design unique models in the Tinkercad program but also design models that could be 3D printed successfully and effectively. As with anything, making mistakes is a natural part of the design process and one that you should not be afraid of, as this is part of learning and improving your skills. But there are some mistakes that are easy to make, and an important step to learning is how to identify and check for these mistakes as they may greatly impact the success of your designs.
Remember to always ensure your models are touching the workplane, and not accidentally rotated so that they are only partially touching the workplane. We can inspect our models from multiple perspectives in Tinkercad to check this, and also check what our first few layers look like as we prepare our designs in CAM later on as well.
When designing our shapes, we should consider the type of printer we are using...
