Creating our base mesh for the mushroom
In this section, we will begin creating our base mesh for our mushroom model. Organic modeling can be tricky sometimes, but if we start with basic geometry and slowly add more details, the process can be a lot easier. We will also focus on creating good geometry, which can be challenging to achieve when creating organic models, but following this process will allow you to create good topology and amazing organic models. Let's begin with our base mesh.
Using primitive objects to create our base mesh
We are going to use a basic primitive mesh to create our base model. Let's do this now:
- Create a new Blender project.
- Delete all objects in the scene by pressing A to select all the objects, and then pressing X to confirm the delete.
- To add a cylinder mesh, press Shift + A and select Mesh | Cylinder.
Let's now move our cylinder so that it's positioned on top of the floor grid of our scene.
- Let...
