Animating our scene
In this section, we will be animating our empty object by creating basic keyframes over time. Then, we will create a new input value/parameter to easily adjust the overall scale of our instance objects right from the modifier stack.
Adding keyframes
Let's add some keyframes to our empty object to create an animation. For this, let's go back to the layout window:
- Click on the Layout tab at the top of the interface.
- Select the empty object and move it to the right-hand side so that it's not affecting any of the cube instances. Press G, then X, and drag it toward the right-hand side:
- With the empty object selected, make sure you are on frame 1 by looking at the Timeline section at the bottom.
- Press I and select Location from the drop-down menu to insert a Location keyframe:
