Picking the right movers – migration tools
When moving house, we may need some help with packaging, having the right truck, and having movers to help us do the heavy lifting. With SharePoint migrations, selecting the right tool is equally important. Whether it’s a self-service move or we have help from consultants, a migration tool is crucial. That tool should assist us with all five aspects of a successful move we noted in the previous section.
I’ve been involved in numerous migrations over the years. To handle those migrations, there have been a couple of third-party tools I’ve relied on. The most common tools I’ve used in recent years have been products from ShareGate, BitTitan, AvePoint, and Cloudiway, depending on what needs to be moved (especially if the move involved Microsoft Teams from one tenant to another).
