Getting to know the configuration files and NetworkManager
Now that we have learned about some of the keywords and concepts of networking, it’s time to look at where we can use them to network our system.

package used to be available, in RHEL 9, it has been removed – use NetworkManager instead.
NetworkManager is a utility that was created in 2004 to make network configuration and its usage easier for desktop users. At that point, all configuration was done via text files and it was more or less static. Once a system was connected to a network, the information barely changed at all. With the adoption of wireless networks, more flexibility was required to automate and ease the connection to different networks via different profiles or VPNs.
