Downloading a file from the Internet and deleting a file
Most computer users have downloaded files using their favorite browser: sometimes, pictures, video, or music, and other times, other applications and setup programs. In Linux, this is certainly possible from a browser in the GUI, but there are ways to download files using the command line too!
As useful a feature this is, it is easy to download a lot until you've run out of space to store your files. We will also cover the commands to help you clean things up. What could be more fun that learning a command that can wipe out your entire system?

How to do it...
The two commands that are built into most Linux systems are curl
and wget
. They are both good. Linux can never have one of anything. Generally speaking, wget
has more options and is good for downloads and web scraping. We'll take a quick look at both:
