Security and Section Access
Sometimes we need to make sure that only certain users can view all or part of a document.
Explanation
We may want to limit the use of our document to certain people or restrict the rows of information individuals can see or even which fields a user can view. QlikView has the ability to restrict all of these.
Although security is a major part of our application, it should be considered as part of the initial data design. However, it may be easier to add security once the document is established.
Background
One of the best ways of securing a document is to use the Section Access facility. There are a number of functions within this, which are described in the following section. However, for simple security tasks, we can leave out Section Access and control security manually.
