Background
It is important for the developer to understand the data well enough to create a robust application, and building a temporary application for this is a useful step. However, the temporary application can have a second valuable use. Working with the user as the application is built usually generates many ideas from the user, and these can be incorporated into the final application. Sometimes, completely unexpected insights occur—but then, that's really what QlikView is all about.
