Downloading Tableau

Before we can bring data into Tableau, we must first download it onto our local machine. As mentioned earlier in the chapter, it is quite straightforward to get started with Tableau. The first thing we must do is visit their website and download a free version of Tableau, known as Tableau Public: https://public.tableau.com/en-us/s/download.

You may be prompted to enter an e-mail address before you can download the application. At the time of writing, the most recent version of Tableau Public is 10.0.2.

Once the file has been downloaded, we can go ahead and begin the installation process.
