Orchestrating the integration of Monitoring (vROps)
vRealize Operations Manager provides key performance metrics to a complete Virtual Infrastructure Ecosystem, so it can connect to a single vCenter instance or to 50. It can poll and report on the NSX performance, VMware Horizon, or pull metrics from the NetApp or EMC array, or collaborate using Log Insight to categorize syslog data from a number of network devices. The tool itself is for viewing past performance and to help anticipate trends and future bottlenecks based on analysis of the data within.
Integrating PowerCLI and vROps requires a couple of specific versions to connect:
vRealize Operations Manager (vROps) version 6.0.3 and newer
PowerCLI at version 6.0 release 1 or newer
So if the environment that is being managed has older editions of vROps, there is no API to connect to.
Although there is a fairly straightforward install process, this chapter will only display the integration points of scripting and vROps. This section will explain...
