Summary
In this chapter, we saw that it is relatively easy to do things way beyond what a simple SQL database server is supposed to support, thanks to its pluggable language's support.
In fact, you can do almost anything in the PostgreSQL server you could do in any other application server. Hopefully, this chapter just scratched the surface on some of the ideas of what you can do inside a PostgreSQL server.
In the next chapter, we will learn about writing PostgreSQL's more advanced functions in C. This will give you deeper access to PostgreSQL, allowing you to use a PostgreSQL server for even more powerful things.
