Your challenge


Although we now have a number of the major materials in place, there are still quite a few items left in the scene that need some attention—including some that are currently still on hidden layers. To finish things here, we have a challenge for you. Open up the Daylight_Interior_with_Materials_04.skp file found in your Exercise_Files | Model_Files | Chapter_06 folder and finish applying the completed and named materials to their corresponding geometry.

If you prefer, you can just jump ahead and examine the materials in the completed scene by opening up the Daylight_Interior_with_Materials_Final.skp file that is found in the Exercise_Files | Model_Files | Chapter_06 folder.

Feel free to play around with the materials, save out your own version of the final scene file, and then compare what you create with my final render as seen in the following screenshot:

Of course, we are still a long way from being ready to create any kind of final renders. Material tweaks, camera and composition...
