Executing dimension build rules using MaxL
In this recipe, we will build the dimensions for the entire Basic
database using Essbase Administration Services (EAS). We will then use dimension build rules and MaxL dimension build commands to build the hierarchies for each dimension. You should complete the recipe Setting up folder structure and other files needed for MaxL automation before you continue as we are going to need the folder structure and script created in that recipe.
Getting ready
To get started, click on the Start menu and navigate to Program | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button.
How to do it...
Expand the Essbase Server in EAS, expand the Applications node, drill down on the Sample2 application, click on the Basic database, right-click on the Outline, and click on Edit.
Right-click on the Outline: Basic node in the Outline Editor, selects Add...
