Using the DATAEXPORT function to extract data into a relational source
In this recipe, we will use the DATAEXPORT
function to extract data from Essbase directly into a relational table. In order to accomplish this task, you need a DSN and a table in the relational environment that is set up with the same column structure as your export. You will also need to set up your DATAEXPORT
with the parameters needed for this task. This functionality is only available in the Block Storage (BSO) cube.
Getting ready
To get started, click on the Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Administration Services | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button. You need the TBC database that was created in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 to add a new table.
