Excellent book that covers basic concepts to more advanced. It helped me pass the exam 1Z0-146 with the score of 100%. I recommended to my colleagues and I recommend to all who wish to learn what is most advanced in the case of PL / SQL. The book in my opinion is a master piece.

The author Saurabh K. Gupta has successfully managed to write an excellent book about Oracle PL/SQL. The book name is: Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Professional Guide.From the concept to the syntax, this book covers what is needed to know to prepare the 1Z0-146 certification exam. It focuses on concepts, and lot of examples. If you want to learn or improve your PL/SQL knowledge, this book is for you.The first two chapters focus on the PL/SQL concepts and design. Chapter 3 talks about Collections ; Nested tables, VARRAY with excercies.The book also talks about external routines ; executing C and Java programs. In this book, Saurabh demonstrates how to implement VPD (Virtual Private Database).Chapter 6 and 7 explain the use of Large objects; LOB; CLOB, BLOB and BFILE also, the 11g SecureFile LOBs.The chapter 8 and 9 talk about Tuning methods and techniques to improve Performance; the 11g Result Cache, Tuning PL/SQL code and compilation techniques.The book also explain tracing methods and Profiling.The book contains a lot of tips , techniques and exercice to help you to achieve the 1Z0-146 certification exam.In summary, the author Saurabh K. Gupta has produced a work of great quality and value. I recommend this book to all PL/SQL developers; beginners and advanced programmers.

This developer guide provides very good coverage on both the basic concepts of PL/SQL as well as much more advanced concepts (packages, overloading, statistics, etc). This is probably one of the few books that you'll keep on your shelf long after you've reached an intermediate or advanced level of PL/SQL coding experience.The writing is clear and concise, and it would be an invaluable reference to have handy on a Kindle.

This book covers all the basic concepts of PL/SQL and found it to be very useful for PL/SQL beginners like me, with very little prior exposure. It is extremely useful for the izo- 146 exam and is a good material to trust for exam. I recommend this book to everyone/anyone preparing for the exam.

The book is very good. She understands very well the material covers the certification 1Z0-146 and may become a bedside book. I recommend everyone who want to get certified and meet the real power of PL / SQL. There are one or other improvement that can be done, but for now the book is well structured.I intend to take the OCP next month and the book is helping me a lot to prepare. The Saurabh K. Gupta developed a an excellent book for anyone who is starting in the world of PL / SQL advanced. Worth every penny invested.
