Chapter 6. RAC Database Administration and Workload Management

Typically, when you have completed the Clusterware setup and it is operational, the next big thing on your priority list is creating the RAC databases, administering and managing the application workload.

To present a better understanding of various database creation methods, managing the RAC database, and handling application workload effectively in your cluster environment, we have split this chapter into two sections. In the first section, we will discuss the key points and various methods of RAC database configuration and creation. In the second section, we will discuss how to manage the application workload in the RAC database by taking the advantages of Oracle RAC database prime features such as scalability and high availability.
