Database Replay
Database Replay is part of the Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition Real Application Testing (RAT) suite that provides the ability to capture and simulate workloads. It is a powerful tool in tuning arsenal for load testing and provides benchmarking tools for serious performance analysis. The beauty of this feature is that you can capture a real workload on a production system and then replay it in another environment. By using database replay for impact analysis, you can preview the effects of parameter changes, application patches, and storage changes to an RAC environment with Oracle. Database Replay uses a four-phase approach:
