Upgrading to Oracle 11g R2 Clusterware
Oracle 11g R2 comes with many exciting new features. The look and feel of OUI has also totally changed in contrast to its previous versions. When you experience the new features, you may plan an upgrade to your TEST, DEVELOPMENT, or UAT environments to test the functionality of this new version.
When you plan to upgrade your existing Oracle 11g R1 Clusterware environment, skip the following recommendations. If you plan to upgrade your 10g clusterware directly to 11g R2, you will need to ensure that the following criteria are met at your end, prior to commencing the upgrade process:
If you are performing an upgrade from Oracle 10.1.0.2 to 11g R2:
Upgrade Oracle Clusterware (cluster home) to Oracle 10.1.0.3.
Then, upgrade Oracle 10.1.0.3 Clusterware (cluster home) to Oracle 11g R2.
If you are performing an upgrade from Oracle 10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2 to 11g R2:
Upgrade Oracle Clusterware (cluster home) to Oracle 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.3 with CRS Bundle Patch#2.
