Oracle 11g Streams for RAC
Oracle 11g Streams is a robust data replication technology built into the Oracle database engine. It has existed in various incarnations since Oracle 9i database release. However, with each major release of Oracle, enhancements and new features have been added to make Streams one of the premier data replication tools, to complement the high availability features in addition to other maximum availability technologies such as Data Guard and RAC. Streams uses Advanced Queuing (AQ) in the form of a message queuing system similar to that found in other queuing technologies such as Tuxedo and IBM M/Q series queuing packages. The advantage of Streams over other replication technologies, including Oracle advanced replication, is the presence of certain features that don't exist within these other applications.
