What is a business framework
A business framework is not an exhaustive enterprise architecture framework. It has a higher context. The purpose of a business framework is to define the relationships between key business concepts so that everyone in the organization shares a high-level common language. Thus, when they communicate and collaborate, they are not using the same term to mean different things. When a database developer uses the word customer, it does not mean the same thing to a salesperson. For the database developer, the term customer is a field in a database. For the salesperson, it is someone with whom they are conducting business.
How frameworks can confuse
The original idea of enterprise architecture was to capture the information about the whole enterprise. However, this has proven to be too hard for most businesses.
