Miscellaneous Settings
There are a number of configuration settings that do not fit into any of the above categories. Such settings are covered in the following sub-sections.
Editing Options
When changing content, Moodle's actions are triggered by icons. For instance, by moving a block to the right, pages are reloaded automatically after each action. A significantly more intuitive and time-efficient mode has been implemented that allows the same operations to be performed via a drag-and-drop mechanism, which requires support for AJAX and Javascript. To activate this mode go to Appearance | AJAX and Javascript in the Site Administration block and enable AJAX. You can also limit this interactive mode to non-courses only by selecting the second option.
Bear in mind that only some areas of Moodle support AJAX, others use the static approach. Also, not all web browsers fully support AJAX, especially older browsers and browsers tailored for specific hardware such as mobile devices and games consoles...
